The Children of the Gods

Millions of years ago, a young australopithecine named Alia vanishes beside a river, carried off by a light that falls from the sky. She comes back changed: an inner voice, words she invents, dreams in which someone teaches her the world. Cast out by her own kind, she finds shelter in a cave that seems to be waiting for her, and gives birth to three children. The first humans. From among the stars, curious, clumsy beings, deeply moved by what they have made, watch, guide, and wonder whether they had the right. From the first fire to the pyramids, from the great religions to the Enlightenment, all the way to a future where humanity trusts its life to artificial intelligence, they slip in dreams, hunches, and signs, without ever showing themselves. But one day, they will speak. Children of the Gods blends mythology, alternate history, science fiction, and philosophy: a saga about origins, violence, freedom, and what it means to be someone's child.
