Hugo est un adolescent passionné de littérature, un rat de bibliothèque comme le surnomme "gentiment" ses camarades. Alors qu'il subit les brimades et le harcèlement de ses pairs, Hugo se réfugie à la bibliothèque, c'est son sanctuaire. Un soir, Hugo se retrouve malencontreusement enfermé dans la bibliothèque, où un Grimoire, à la couverture de cuir, l'attire. Mais lorsqu'il ouvre ce grimoire les pages sont blanches. Alors qu'il se questionne Hugo est aspiré par le livre et se retrouve dans une dimension parallèle où son monde et la magie ne font plus qu'un.
